For every thought we have, we lose a thousand in the clearing. Of all the things found in the realm of knowladge, so little of what is can actually be found there. Our speacies is young and neive, we think we're smart, we think we're right, we think we'll come out on top. Maybe this is our greatest downfall, our belief that we'll come out on top. Of course, the reasoning for this as our greatest downfall is that it steps from our belief of our own greatness.
I am not anti technology by any means, in fact i'm a computer programmer, so i embrace it quite willingly. However, the downfall of mankind started with the advent of the wheel. Technology is, has been, and will continue to be, a crutch for humanity. A crutch that prevents us from advancing as a species, and a crutch that will eventually spell our own doom. The reason for this is that we rely on technology for so much, our environment changes because of it, and we conitnue to advance the technological side of humanity to counter the effects of our own ignorance. In doing so, we tempt fate; eventually you lose, the very nature of chaos spells out that eventually we will lose. The speices will one day colapse, everything we know will die with us. Why? We've put so much of our resources into technological advance, while at the same time we've eliminated the need for evolutionary advance.
Since the dawn of technology, humanity has fallen back on their own evolution. We've been slacking off as a species for tens of thousands of years. While we've been doing this, the technoloy has continued to advance, although a lot of the polution created by this technology is new, in past resource aquisition was nearly as bad. We have forced the animals aroudn us to evolve at a constant, and accellorated, rate in order to survive. Those who can't addapt quickly enough are added to the ever growing list of extinct speacies Earth once knew.
We need to understand that our actions are effecting the rest of the world, and that world is full of life. Not just life, but life that is inteligent, important, and has just as much right, if not more so, to live here as we do. We continue to push these animals to the brink, they can't take it anymore. The changes they have to make are so drastic, so sudden. Maybe the only answer is to put ourselves in their shoes. By doing so we could solve the technological advancement problems, but i mean, we really need to put ourselves in their place. Let the climate changes effect us directly instead of just turning up the heat.
We need to realize that it's not natural to be closed in together in a small area. The concentration of the human population completely destroys entire areas. In past, humanity lived near the equater, they lived here because it was warm, because they could survive there without problem. Over time they began to multiply. They followed the wild game to survive, when their tribe would get to be too large, they would split. The split tribes would do the same and split again. These tribes eventually started to move apart from eachother, persumably to sustain the wildlife in the area, enabling an easier hunt. Tribes continued to grow, and became small mobile comunities. As agriculture came into play, these mobile cominuties found that they didn't have to be so mobile anymore. They started to advance their immidiate surroundings in order to appease the ever growing desier for convienience. Limited mobility tribes continued to split as they grew to be too large. Not so much for the food supply, as it could be expanded, but for more argumentitive reasons.
Advancements in technology continued in the name of convenience, causing the dence pockets of life to impact upon their immediate environment. This impact was light with the lessor technologies, however it was still felt by other life forms. In some sociaties, the harvesting of lumber to create more structures, heating, ritualistic fires, envoked mass clear cutting which in some cases destroyed the people themselves. I do believe that this is a good lesson for us to take into concideration. History repeats itself, and we will kill ourselves again.
